Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. “I choose Habitat for Humanity because I had heard such great things about them,” said Sarah, “including the fact that they teach the volunteers and the recipients of the homes new skills that can’t really be learned anywhere else. It’s a win-win for everybody.”
Sarah spent her time doing a wide range of things including digging trenches, laying rebar, mixing and pouring cement, installing door frames, laying tiles, and she even installed a toilet and sink. “Its hard work but its very rewarding,” said Sarah, “I’m, thinking about doing it again next year.” No doubt the Habitat for Humanity crew would love to have her back.
